El Capítulo Argentino de la IEEE BTS Broadcast Technology Society invita a la Conferencia del Ing. Rodrigo Admir Vaz sobre 'Digital TV Measurements', que se realizará el viernes 28 de mayo de 2010 en la sede de IEEE / CICOMRA..

'Digital TV Measurements'
Presentation will deal about current Digital TV situation around South America (including Panama). Current DTV status, adopted systems, broadcast situation in each country.
Different field tests were made in different countries as Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru and Panama to evaluate DTV receiver's behavior, broadcasted signal configuration, how imperfect configuration can affect the DTV receiver operation and how to deal with these issues.

Agenda:
1. Current DTV Status in South America: a) Which DTV system was adopted by each country; b) Main dates and milestones
2. DTV measurements made in different countries: a) Field Tests objectives; b) Current Status of DTV Broadcast: i) Broadcasters; ii) Experimental x Commercial Broadcast; iii) Broadcasted DTV Features; c) Equipments used in field test; d) Field Test Points; e) Some considerations about received signal; f) Errors found in DTV Transport Stream; g) How can these errors affect DTV Receiver?
3. Countries Visited for Field Test Purpose (so far): Brazi, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Panama

Rodrigo Admir Vaz Resumé
Graduated in telecommunications engineering at Polytechnic School of University of São Paulo (USP) at the end of 2003.
Master degree in July 2007, in Digital TV, wireless communication and interactivity channel areas.
He was working with DTV in the begging of 2002 in R&D of DTV receivers (Set-Top Boxes) inside DTV Lab of USP as internship.
In 2005 he worked in DTV Lab of USP attending to the reference DTV model (in DTV receiver area) project that helped Brazilian Government to choose the Brazilian DTV system.
In 2007 he started working for Samsung in R&D in DTV receiver area, working in receivers test area, executing test with streams, field, conformance, among other kind of tests.
He is also responsible by SQA/SQE area of internal projects.
